SCHOOLED

BLAZER, OLD (SIMILAR) | | WHITE BUTTON DOWN SHIRT (SIMILAR) | | BOW TIE | | FAUX LEATHER SHORTS (SIMILAR, ON SALE!) | | PEEP TOE BOOTIES (SIMILAR) | | QUILTED PURSE (SIMILAR) | | EARRINGS | | WATCH c/o WRISTOLOGY | | NAILS: 'SNOW ME WHITE' BY SINFULCOLORS PROFESSIONAL | | LIPS: 'BORN WITH IT' BY MAYBELLINE

Hi dolls! A little schoolgirl-esque look for you all as we approach the weekend. I'm getting my wear of faux leather now before the weather warms up too much and I'm stuck sweating in my shorts, which totally seems to defeat the purpose of wearing shorts all together! Also, this bow tie, pussy bow, whatever you want to call it (I'll just stick with oversized bow tie like ASOS so professionally calls it) is a necessary accessory. I mean who doesn't love a good bow, plus it is a great alternative to wearing a statement necklace which we all know we do all too often.  This one simply secures itself to any top with a collar and it's under $15. Score.

THE 3 MUST-HAVE SANDALS FOR SPRING

STYLE 1: SLIDE SANDAL
GOLD CRISS CROSS SANDALS | | WHITE TEE | | DENIM c/o SHOPBOP | | SUNGLASSES, ON SALE! | | WATCH c/o WRISTOLOGY, USE CODE 'jasmin20' FOR 20% OFF | | HANDBAG (SIMILAR)

The slide sandal is the way to go for easy, errand running goodness and a style we are seeing everywhere this season. I am obsessed with these gold ones because, well, they're gold and and are a fun, trendy option for the Birkenstock haters out there like myself.

STYLE 2: GLADIATOR
COGNAC GLADIATOR SANDALS (MORE SIZES | MORE COLORS) | | WHITE TEE | | DENIM c/o SHOPBOP | | SUNGLASSES, ON SALE! | | WATCH c/o WRISTOLOGY, USE CODE 'jasmin20' FOR 20% OFF | | HANDBAG (SIMILAR)

Gladiators are a great way to jump into spring and summer weather, there are so many types out there but I love these cognac ones because they have a small block heel and the neutral tone makes them easy to wear with just about anything. I am looking forward to wearing them with this dress as soon as it warms up more.

STYLE 3: THE MULE
WHITE MULE SANDALS | | WHITE TEE | | DENIM c/o SHOPBOP | | SUNGLASSES, ON SALE! | | WATCH c/o WRISTOLOGY, USE CODE 'jasmin20' FOR 20% OFF | | HANDBAG (SIMILAR)

The mule, a trend I said I wouldn't even try mainly because I didn't understand how they stayed on your foot (remember this post?!), well I have been proven wrong. This pair is absolutely perfect, stay on your feet like a gem and are actually very comfortable. You'll kick yourself later if you don't grab a pair, the mule is definitely in.

Below are a few more sandal picks perfect for spring!

CASUAL MIDI

STRIPED MIDI DRESS (SIMILAR | SIMILAR | LOVE THIS!) | | CHAMBRAY SHIRT | | CONVERSE SNEAKERS | | RED PURSE (SIMILAR) | | SUNGLASSES, OLD (SIMILAR) | | EARRINGS | | LIPS: 'ARE YOU RED-DY' BY MAYBELLINE | | NAILS: 'SNOW ME WHITE' BY SINFULCOLORS PROFESSIONAL

Before someone does it for me, disclaimer: I know this dress is not technically "midi" length but realistically it would be on a non giant human being, aka not me.

Sorry about the non existent post yesterday, if you follow me on Instagram you know I was in denial about the weekends end and pretending it was still Sunday, totally mature, I know. However I do tend to be realistic and quite mature about clothing, I like versatility, those pieces you can dress up and down, and that you can come up with at least 3 different ways to wear before you've even pressed check out and charged your card. Well this dress was never one of those pieces, I bought it to dress up, in my head midi length means formal, conservative and well just plain not casual. But I was proven wrong, I threw it on on a whim to see if it just might play the role of casual day dress and was pleasantly surprised and a little disappointed that I hadn't known this would be the case or tried it before. So my impractical self is subconsciously quite practical and mature after all, that makes up for my refusal to believe yesterday was Monday and the giant cup of Fro Yo to ease my "it can't really be Monday" blues, right?!

PEPLUM STYLE

BLACK PEPLUM, ON SALE! | | DENIM | | PUMPS | | LEOPARD CLUTCH (SPLURGE-RENT) | | WATCH c/o WRISTOLOGY | | BRACELET c/o ROCKSBOX | | EARRINGS | | LIPS: 'REBEL' BY MAC | | NAILS: 'SNOW ME WHITE' BY SINFULCOLORS PROFESSIONAL

I love a peplum, whether it's a loose fitting longline version like I posted yesterday or a structured fit and flare like this one, I love them all because it is the easiest way to create the illusion of curves, which I seriously lack. This particular style, which shortens the torso, makes the legs appear longer, yet because of the high low style keeps everything proportionate. This top does NO wrong. I wore this the other night for dinner on the harbor and was so grateful for the high temps so that I didn't have to cover up the flattering neckline with a jacket! Is everyone else as insanely excited about spring/summer weather as I am?!

TASSELS

IVORY TASSEL TOP, ON SALE! | | DENIM JACKET, OLD (SIMILAR) | | BLACK DENIM | | ESPADRILLES | | PURSE (SIMILAR) | | WATCH (SIMILAR) | | SUNGLASSES | | EARRINGS | | NAILS: 'SNOW ME WHITE' BY SINFULCOLORS PROFESSIONAL

Happy Wednesday! I've been all about the fringe and tassels as of late and this top is definitely my current fave, the tassels, peplum hem, high low style and currently on sale! Total no brainer. It also comes in a gorgeous purple color that I may just have to scoop up. These espadrilles that literally every blogger has, well there's a reason. These bad boys are like wearing slippers, so plush and comfy, I got them in all black as well during a BOGO sale, just make sure you read the reviews I think they run relatively true to size, however I know there are a lot of mixed feelings about the fit. Also loving denim jackets for spring, they are so versatile, especially now that denim on denim is back in. The perfect layer for the hourly change in temperature.

SKINCARE ROUTINE

Remember when I did an Enza Essentials review?! Well I still use the products past the "review" phase because I was serious when I said I LOVE this skincare line.

Every morning (usually post run or workout) I start by cleansing my face in the shower with Enza Essentials Saturation Cleanser, one pump is plenty and I cleanse twice during my shower. After my shower I spray the Enza Essentials Saturation Toner on a cotton pad and wipe all over face. This makes my skin feel super clean, without drying me out. Next I apply the Enza Essentials Glycolic Serum, at first I struggled with how to apply this evenly but after a few tries I found that rubbing it in my hands first then pressing onto my skin works best. Because this needs time to soak in I usually brush my teeth or put my contacts in while the serum works its magic. Lastly, I apply a thin layer of the Enza Essentials Vitamin C Creme followed by Enza Essentials Advanced Protection SPF 30, these are both great moisturizers and provide a soft foundation for makeup. I have never included an SPF in my skincare routine before, I know soooo bad, but I just assumed that since I never burn with or without sunscreen that I didn't need any but have taken major steps this year to proactively prepare my skin for years to come. Also, I'll be honest, at first I was a little intimidated by this routine but after just a couple days I didn't need to refer to the personalized directions the Enza consultant sent me and noticed the benefits almost immediately, softer more even skin and a clearer, brighter complexion.

On a night I follow the same routine as in the morning (refer to instructions above) however I first rid my face of makeup, when I wear it, with a makeup remover wipe. I also do not apply any SPF for bed.

Twice a week I indulge in a little pampering. I love the Enza Essentials Saturation Aloe Scrub, it is like a spa in a bottle. The scrub is made up of natural grains which polishes away any flakes, dry patches or uneven skin tones and hydrates and nourishes at the same time. I love how it feels and smells, and seriously look forward to my "scrub" days. My other treat is the Origins Clear Improvements Mask the charcoal draws out all the gunk, leaving my skin soft, clean and clear!

If anyone is looking for a new skincare routine for spring or just looking to give your skin a change I highly suggest Enza Essentials, they will personalize the products and routine just for you to ensure the best results. If you have any questions about them or my skincare routine please feel free to email or comment below!

STAPLES

TRENCH COAT (SIMILAR | MORE HERE) | | WHITE SHIRT (SIMILAR) | | DENIM c/o SHOPBOP | | NUDE PUMPS | | NUDE CLUTCH | | EARRINGS | | WATCH c/o WRISTOLOGY | | LIPS: 'BLISS' c/o GLO MINERALS | | NAILS: 'SNOW ME WHITE' BY SINFULCOLORS PROFESSIONAL

I've spoken before about staples of a wardrobe, those must have, can never go wrong with items. Well throw all those pieces together in one outfit and it makes for an easy going, put together look,  a total no brainer since it's made up of staples. However, if you're anything like me you argue that all of your clothes are staple pieces, must have, can never go wrong with items so just to clarify, the staple pieces we are talking about here today are:

1. Classic trench: Perfect for spring showers, it provides protection from the rain but is lightweight enough for the warmer months. Stick with a neutral one if this is your first trench or add a colorful or cropped one to the mix if you've already started your collection!
2. White button down: Crisp and fresh, a white button down is an easy throw on when nothing else works. Roll up the sleeves for a laid back look or rock the half or full tuck and you're good to go.
3. Perfect fit denim: Distressed denim is so in right now, get yourself a pair that hug you in all the right places but are comfortable. This pair is perfect spring denim because they are lightweight and as soft as sweats.
4. Nude pumps: These are a year round, lifelong staple that you can honestly never go wrong with. Find a nude that compliments your skin tone, you want the closest match to ensure they are elongating your legs and not cutting you short.
