I cannot believe this is my last post of 2015! This year has been full of its fair share of ups and downs and I'm so excited to be going into a new year on a total high. I am looking forward to seeing what is in store for me not only personally but also with the blog. I have a lot of stuff in the works that I am so excited to continue working on and even more excited to share with you guys, but more importantly I just want to express my gratitude for all of you who take the time to follow me and my passion, and truly hope you will continue to follow along for 2016. Cheers to a new year!

FYI: No post tomorrow, have a safe and very happy New Year!

(All of our looks were styled by Keri Henderson, a local DC stylist, and the garments were from Urban Sweetheart)

The day after Christmas I got to spend the morning with some fabulous women on the set of Fox 5 News for a fun New Years Eve outfit inspired segment, you can view the entire segment here. As stylist Keri Henderson said New Years Eve is your time to step out of your comfort zone and try something new and different. Whether you get a little crazy with the sequins, or throw on a little faux leather and top it with some faux fur, just have fun, bring in the new year with a bang! Below are some of my favorite sequins, jumpsuits and separates to help inspire your NYE look!

Black and white is a common go to, and don't you always want to double up on a good thing? I mean that's why double stuff Oreos exist right?! So go ahead and pair two black and white patterned pieces together just make sure you are mixing a small print, like my top, with a larger print, like my pumps. This is the easiest way to ease into the print mixing phenomenon if you're new to the show or just want to create a classic pairing, plus these windowpane pumps are not only super cute but very comfortable and finished off a perfect look for a casual date night.

I hope everyone had a fabulous holiday! I have been so lazy since Christmas but have been able to spend some quality time with my loved ones so I am going into Monday with a major smile and some serious heart eyes *insert emoji here*. When it comes to a Monday after a long weekend I reach for basics and accessories to up the anti. This LBD is the perfect dress for everyday, I wear it on repeat and might grab another because it is just that good. I topped this look off with a hat, scarf and my current go to purse when you're rocking an LBD you can get away with all the extras. Plus these booties are currently on sale, for less than $20, and the perfect neutral!

Happy Christmas Eve! So many of you have asked about what products I use on my hair and how I style it and I promise I will do a full routine and product list soon but for now I wanted to share three holiday hairstyles with you!

I wear my hair in curls most days, but for a holiday look I wanted looser waves so I used the Nume 32MM Classic Wand, right now you can get any curling wand for $40 with code DEC39! I just did a quick run through my straightened hair, made a deep part and hairsprayed it up!

I also wear my hair to the side a lot, it's an easy way to glam up your look. Follow the same process as the loose waves above but then pull all of your hair to either side, I tend to go to the left side because it is opposite of my part. Then I secure my hair with bobby pins placed along the base of my hairline to ensure the hair stays to the chosen side.

I have very minimal hair "skills" I can't do an up do to save my life but a twisted low bun with wispy pieces is an easy way to get your hair up while still looking put together. I like to put my hair up after it has been curled because it gives more texture and body, then I literally just twist my hair secure it in a bun with a hair tie and pull out some shorter curls to frame my face. I usually end up re curling those loose pieces to get them to lay accordingly.

Happy Hump day! With Christmas just around the corner and holiday eating in full swing, it is important to take time for yourself both physically and mentally, I personally find working out to be a great stress reliever and at the busiest, most stressful time of the year a high-intensity interval training (HIIT) workout is the best way to sweat it out! Below is a full body HIIT workout that I do once or twice a week in rotation with other workouts:

Circuit 1 (x2)
Squat & Press (15 reps)
Ab Bikes (20 per side)
Jump Squats (15 reps)
Walking Lunges *w/ or w/o weight* (12 per side)
Circuit 2 (x2)
Burpees (10 reps)
Plank (1 min.)
Push Ups (12 reps)
Dips (12 reps)

Repeat Circuit 1 (x2) and Circuit 2 (x2)

Holiday looks do not have to be all about the glitter and glitz, when you want to wear that standout dress or sequin jumpsuit you do not want to go overboard with competing makeup. I like to keep things relatively simple and natural while amping up one feature. I chose to do some doll-like lashes for a recent holiday party, now you can recreate this look one of two ways you can either use falsies, I prefer the individual falsies because I think it enhances your lashes while appearing to be more "natural" or you can skip the falsies all together and double up on your mascara. This is my go to mascara because it is build-able and so easy to apply to both sides of my lashes which is what I do to create a more dramatic effect. I coat both sides of my lashes let it dry then apply a second coat and it instantly makes me look like I am wearing a pair of falsies when I am not! As far as eyeshadow goes you want pigmentation and this palette offers just that, but remember to blend, blend, then blend some more. I kept my lids light then gradually darkened the hue as I moved outwards then did a dark crease for emphasis, lastly I lined my bottom lash line with eyeliner. I finished off the look with what I would call the perfect shiny nude! All of my products are from Ulta Beauty which has seriously become my one stop shop for beauty products.

Happy Monday! With holiday events in full swing and the big day approaching it is important to take a little time for yourself this week not only for your sanity but for your beauty upkeep as well. I like to ensure that I am looking and feeling my absolute best so below are my "must do's" before Christmas all in the hopes that you too will take a little time to pamper yourself pretty by Friday:

1. Rest: Beauty sleep is no joke, your skin and body look rejuvenated when you get the rest you need, and with some late nights in sight between holiday parties, Christmas and New Years taking advantage of some down time is the way to go. Naps certainly come into play during these hectic times, a 20 minute refresh with a sleep mask will help you get through the day and performing at your best, but be sure to keep it to 20 minutes, anything more and it can have the opposite effect.
2. Teeth: With pictures galore being taken during the holiday season ensuring your teeth are going to be picture ready is easy to do with these Mr. Blanc teeth whitening strips. These strips are peroxide free which is great for sensitivity issues and they treat your teeth kindly while whitening. I started mine last week and have already seen a huge improvement, I will certainly not be holding back on the teeth baring grins!
3. Hair: I love my long locks but keeping it healthy with all of the heat I apply to it daily can be tough. These hair vitamins ensure that my locks are receiving the nutrients needed for maximum growth, strength and elasticity.
4. Nails: The Biotin from my hair supplements also helps with nail growth and health, but a quick mani/pedi is a sure way to get festive. I for one prefer painting my own nails but you could easily take an hour and head over to the salon if you are not as comfortable painting them yourself or if you just want a little extra pampering! I went with this gorgeous red for the holiday season.
5. Skin: Lastly, your skin. We all want "the glow", without the pregnancy part, but obtaining that can be tricky. With the colder weather this masque is great for hydrating your skin, while also exfoliating and brightening!

I hope this helps you take a little time for yourself as the chaos continues, be sure to stop by the rest of the week for some other holiday prep posts!
