SHOPBOP MAXI : DAY TO NIGHT

I've recently been trying to find a way to make maxis work in the winter, and was even more inspired to make them an acceptable garment for a New Years Eve party. A simple black maxi can be dressed both up and down this season. There's no reason to stock these dresses away for the winter, but if you already have, whip them out and try yours with a few of the fun transitional pieces linked above.

TEXTURED STRIPES

Happy Monday!

I can't believe Christmas is over, my trip to England will also be over before I know it so I am trying to enjoy every last minute of this week. Some of my favorite cozy pieces this season have been from Old Navy, their sweater selection has been on point this year and I have been bundled up in this one plenty, last seen here. I love the two turtlenecks paired together, not only for extra coziness but the textured sweater and striped top add plenty of dimension to an otherwise plain look.

HOLIDAY LOOKS - PART 3

Merry Christmas Eve!

This is seriously my favorite time of the year, I get giddy with excitement during the holidays especially when I get to spend it with my family back in England. Before we planned our trip to England, however, I had been sorting out what I would wear for the annual Christmas Eve party my mom and I attend, and had bought these bow clad pumps and ballerina skirt for the occasion. I thought it would be the perfect outfit for the elegant event we attend, with a pop of a red lip, this black and white (ivory) look was fitting the bill for this years party. Then we booked our flights and while I am slightly disheartened that I will be spending my Christmas Eve in jeans and a cozy sweater I am ever grateful that I get to spend it with my family enjoying ourselves with food, wine and loads of laughter.

Happy Holidays,

Happy Monday everyone!
It is so crazy that Christmas is this week! I am in sunny old England to celebrate the holidays and bring in the New Year with my family, so if there is a delay in posts or a day is skipped you know why! I hope you all are able to spend some time with loved ones over the next couple of weeks.

I wanted to share two alternative ways to wear a blanket scarf this winter. Many people think the scarf is too bulky especially for a smaller frame. I am 5'10" and most frequently wear my blanket scarfs as last seen here and here however I have had fun experimenting with alternative options to reduce the bulk these scarfs create.

For the first look the scarf is folded rectangularly, twice rather than in a triangle. This gives the scarf the option of being worn as a regular long rectangular scarf.

The second look takes a little more time and practice, the scarf is folded in a triangle and belted. I chose to keep the back out of the belt for less arm restriction however I know plenty of people who get away with having the back of the scarf tucked into the belt as well and have no problems. I have yet to master the art of caping my blanket scarf obvi!

Hope this was beneficial!

Just a quick Fake It 'til You Make It for you, I did one of these a couple of months ago (see here) and a number of you asked for another one with some different designers, so here it is! We all love designer items but isn't it great finding an almost identical product for a quarter of the price, at least until you've saved up for that big price tag item you've been coveting!

Happy Friday!
