Jasmin daily : November 2014

Black Friday is certainly a great time to shop, don't get me wrong I obviously love to shop and a good sale excites me, but getting up at the crack of dawn to shop with a million other people is not my idea of a good time. So today I will be shopping online and most likely it will be for myself, hey a good sale calls for a treat or two!

Happy shopping!

I wore this perfectly cozy outfit to the movies a few weeks ago. This poncho made me feel like I was at home curled up with my favorite blanket watching a film on my sofa, a definite win. It also helped cover my popcorn induced food baby which has made me think this will be the perfect look for Thanksgiving. Now I am not one to be shamed by a good food baby, but I see no problem in doing my best to keep it concealed, you know, since everyone else may not feel the same way ;)

Make sure to stop by the rest of the week for three days of holiday gift guides!

Plaid and stripes are the perfect pair for print mixing in my book. The skinny stripes and bold plaid work in unison, taking a relatively plain look up a notch. Be sure to keep within the same color palette when print mixing to avoid going overboard and ending up looking like you got dressed in the dark. Does anyone else use coats and scarves to create the illusion of having shorter hair? I always take advantage of the colder months to pretend I took the plunge and chopped off all my hair, maybe this winter I will actually do it!?

Happy Monday!

Burgundy Cardigan // Top, old (similar) // Old Navy Jeans // Zara Booties (similar) // Purse (similar) // Earrings // Necklace c/o Rocksbox // Bracelet c/o Rocksbox // Watch // Nails: 'Barbara Forever' by Brucci // Lips: 'Glam Jasmine' by Michael Kors

Burgundy & gold, my old middle schools colors and a duo that I never thought I would view as even remotely bearable, never mind fashionable. I truly thought our gym uniforms had scarred me for life, but recently I am a sucker for all things burgundy, the rich color accentuates any outfit and creates a feeling of warmth even on these blistering cold days. Pair it with gold accessories and my school spirt is fashionably in tact.

Happy Hump Day!

Sorry for another black and white look but the cold really encourages it. This window pane printed scarf is perfect for adding a little pattern to a simply put together look, add a bold red lip and you've got a well rounded finish. These fabulous Kendra Scott earrings seal the deal, they were in my last Rocksbox and I am seriously considering keeping them. Want to know more about the program, read my post on it here. If you haven't already go ahead and sign up for your Rocksbox subscription here and use code BeYourBrightest at checkout to get your first month for only $9!

Thanks always for reading.

More like it's freezing and I never want to get out of bed ever again weather. I actually pulled out all of my winter coats this weekend and it looks like they will be put into use way sooner than I would like. I also gravitate towards black even more than usual, so get ready for a lot of all black looks, it's just me mourning the cold.

Happy Monday!

I love Mondays after a good hearty weekend full of friends and family and actually getting some work done, makes for such a good start to the week. I always reach for my chambrays on the weekends, such an easy move in the dressing process because denim on denim serves for a clean easy palette to add on to. I chose to layer up my chambray with this jacket and scarf to keep warmer in these lower temps and add some warm neutrals to the mix.

Hope you all had a fab weekend!

From top, clockwise:

Growing up my mom was always a lipstick wearer, her "lippy" was always important and reapplied repeatedly throughout the day. I am NO beauty guru, I do just about nothing beauty related except pile on the lippy when my outfit of choice calls for it, what can I say, I'm my mothers daughter. With Fall here darker, richer colors are the way to go and I am enjoying the lip inspiration I am seeing out there. Above are a few of my favorites that I am looking to purchase and a couple that I already wear.

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend.

Blanket Scarf (identicalother color option) // Jacket, old (similar) // Sweater (similar) // Boyfriend Jeans // Loafers // Quilted Cross Body (similar) // Pearl Earrings (similar) // Nails: 'Barbara Forever' by Brucci // Lips: 'Ruby Star' by Maybelline

Above are all the details from a recent Instagram post favorite, not sure whether it was the Starbucks red cup or many layers that garnered the attention but I'm going to bet it was the blanket scarf and go from there ;)
I love colder temps for one reason and one reason only, because it means it is blanket scarf season and I can wear the blanket scarf properly rather than as seen here. I could go on and on about how obsessed I am with the Zara blanket scarves, my growing collection of them would certainly give me away, but I will let the multitude of upcoming blanket scarf posts speak for themselves. Hey, what can I say I plan on never being cold again no matter how brutal our winter gets!
Below are a few other blanket scarf options to keep you warm for the upcoming months:
