Jasmin daily : October 2014

Friday, October 31, 2014

Alright so I am not that great at the whole Halloween thing, I get super excited October 1st and have really high hopes and expectations for myself to create THE best costume then it all hits me day of, like today, that I have absolutely nothing. Nothing includes no appropriate Friday Finds post, and it certainly doesn't help that Scandal was last night, and I see Thursdays as the start to my weekend. So in lieu of our regularly scheduled Friday Finds post...

Sweater, old (similar) // Shirt // Coated Jeans // Booties // Earrings c/o Rocksbox // Watch (similar) // Nails: 'Barbara Forever' by Brucci // Lips: 'Born With It' by Maybelline

On Saturday I received my very first, ribbon-clad Rocksbox and felt the need to tell you all about this service ASAP, since I am already obsessed. If you are anything like me you LOVE jewelry, it is so much fun getting new pieces and styling them, however I am always on the hunt for a new statement piece since I tend to get bored with the jewelry I own. Hence why I never splurge on big ticket jewelry items because two or three wears later they get put in the bottom of my jewelry dish and forgotten about. That's where Rocksbox comes in, it's like the Netflix of jewelry, at less than $20 a month you are paying for access to an endless supply of designer jewelry. You borrow three pieces at a time, selected for you by a stylist, and then have the option to swap the pieces at any point. This means you can hang on to them for weeks at a time or send them back the very next day, it is completely up to you, and as soon as they are returned another 3 pieces are on their way to you. Along the way you get to rate the pieces so that your stylist can gauge your jewelry needs. The best part, if you fall in love with a piece and just can't live without it you can buy it at a special members discount, hello designer jewelry with an affordable price tag! I would highly recommend Rocksbox and am so excited to be able to offer you all one month completely FREE, sign up here!

Make sure to stop by next week to see the other two pieces that came in my first Rocksbox!

I love game day. I am always game for any sporting event during any season of the year. I love the hype, the competitiveness and the excitement surrounding cheering on your team of choice. Fanatics is the place to go for game day gear and I knew exactly what I wanted to pair my baseball hat with. I keep it simple on game day, I want my hands free and my outfit ketchup and beer proof so I opt for a simple baseball style tee, destroyed jeans, my comfy converse and a cross body bag. For a baseball game in particular I would definitely go with the Washington Nationals navy cap, I prefer the classic, vintage feel to a baseball cap and this one definitely captures that, plus I'm a DC girl, born and raised so I have to rep my Nats :)

Fanatics has an endless amount of apparel and so many baseball hats to chose from that will also suit your game day style.

Burgundy, wine, oxblood, sangria...whatever you want to call it I am loving it yet again this Fall. It is such a rich, warm color that works perfectly alongside anything. I swear I can't find a "wrong" way to wear it! These burgundy booties and this burgundy hat are great additions to my wardrobe, and below are a few other ways I am hoping to wear burgundy this Fall:

Happy Monday!

This weekend's weather was absolutely perfect. So perfect in fact, that when it came time to head over to the Fall Festival I debated whether or not to even bring my favorite scarf of all time, the infamous Zara blanket scarf. If you follow me on Instagram you know that I ended up taking it, and initially used it as an accessory to adorn my purse. However, I was beyond grateful that I brought it because the temperature sure did drop as the evening progressed. The weekends festivities were the perfect kickstart to a productive and fun-filled week.

I hope you all had a fabulous weekend :)

Knit Sweater

I become a sweater collector this time of year. I love cozy, comfy sweaters and find that I end up spending a fortune by the time warm weather rolls in. This year I have narrowed down my searches. Above are a variety of styles and fits that could easily make up the perfect fall wardrobe, these sweaters alone could bring in warm weather without breaking the bank.

Have a fabulous weekend!

Menswear-inspired looks have been all the rage recently, especially in the shoe department. I tried to get in with the trend, wore a couple pairs of loafers and oxfords around the department store in an attempt to get with the program but I wasn't really a fan. So I stuck to what I know and that's going schoolboy style with a tailored shirt and sweater to accomplish a menswear-inspired look. I couldn't help but throw on some blue pumps to give this look an added pop of color and take this look from schoolboy to schoolboy blues.

I love layering, which is probably the main reason I love Fall, because I get to layer my little heart out. Vests are a total staple in my wardrobe this time of year, for the sole reason that they add another dimension to my repeat offenders (you've seen this sweater here, here and most recently here), okay and a little because they are practical and provide some extra warmth. Here's to being vested on this chilly, grey Fall day.

All I'm saying is my dresses, tunics and swimsuit cover ups will not be tucked away in the back of my closet this Fall. Please head over to SheKnows and read my article to find out how I am taking this dress and others from Summer to Fall.

Happy Monday!

This weekend was a very relaxed one full of shopping, baking and cleaning out closets to make way for cold weather clothing. To my dismay the temperatures are significantly dropping around these parts, and with Fall being my favorite season and all I really wish it would stick around and not give in to winter-like temperatures! With that being said this is about as dressed as I got this weekend (for a coffee and shopping break), flannels are my go to when there is a chill in the air and an additional layer is necessary. They are perfect for tying around your waist when in the sun and throwing on over a tee when there's a nip in the air.

I hope you all enjoyed your weekend!
