FRIDAY FINDS-FOOD EDITION

We are talking food on the blog today. With the premiere of Scandal and a late night post last night my brain wasn't quite into getting a post for the typical Friday Finds together for today. Luckily I have some great readers/followers who suggested I post the recipes for these pizzas I made and posted on Instagram (@jasmindailyfashion) last night for the Scandal season premiere:
^From front to back: BBQ Chicken Pizza, Pesto Pizza (recipes below), and red wine, a must have when spending the evening with Olivia Pope, recipe not included ;) ^

*I usually make the pizza dough by hand or get fresh from local market, however last night I used Pillsbury Original Pizza Crust which was actually very tasty! - The directions below are according to the Pillsbury packaging*

BBQ Chicken Pizza (Found on Pinterest here):
1lb store bought or homemade pizza dough
Cubed rotisserie chicken (about 1 breast)
Chopped red onion (a handful)
BBQ Sauce
Shredded mozzarella cheese (1 cup)
Chopped cilantro (for garnish)
All purpose flour (to handle dough)
Cornmeal (for dusting baking sheet)

Preheat oven to 400ºF.
Roll out dough on lightly floured surface.
Invert baking sheet and sprinkle with cornmeal.
Put the dough on the inverted baking sheet.
*Skip this step if using homemade pizza dough* -- Preheat Pillsbury pie crust for 5 minutes.
Remove pizza crust from oven and cover in a generous amount of BBQ sauce, leaving a border for the crust.
Evenly distribute the chicken and the red onions.
Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese atop the chicken and onions.
Bake the pizza for 10-12 minutes.
Remove and sprinkle with chopped cilantro.
Let the pizza sit for 5-10 minutes before slicing so that the cheese can settle.
Serve and enjoy!

Pesto Pizza:
1lb store bought or homemade pizza dough
1 large tomato, halved and sliced
3 cups of spinach
Pesto sauce
Shredded mozzarella cheese (1 cup)
All purpose flour (to handle dough)
Cornmeal (for dusting baking sheet)

Preheat oven to 400ºF.
Roll out dough on lightly floured surface.
Invert baking sheet and sprinkle with cornmeal.
Put the dough on the inverted baking sheet.
*Skip this step if using homemade pizza dough* -- Preheat Pillsbury pie crust for 5 minutes.
While the crust is preheating lightly sauté spinach.
Remove pizza crust from oven and cover in a generous amount of pesto sauce, leaving a border for the crust.
Evenly distribute the sautéed spinach and sliced tomato.
Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese atop the spinach and tomatoes.
Bake the pizza for 10-12 minutes.
Let the pizza sit for 5-10 minutes before slicing so that the cheese can settle.
Serve and enjoy!

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend and eat tons of pizza :)

  1. Those pizzas look amazing! I love that they are unique recipes too, not just a traditional pepperoni or something. I'm also hoping you'll post a pic of the outfit you wore to blogger school. :) I'd love to see how you styled your contrast piping portofino!
