Recently, I have been gravitating to feminine features like lace, which does not usually appear in my wardrobe.
Around the time of my birthday I was determined to find a lace top to go along with a midi skirt (that I had already decided was going to be worn) for the finishing touch to a romantic birthday date with Mike. I purchased this cropped lace top since it was perfect to wear with high-waisted bottoms and layer over the top of dresses but I couldn't resist mixing things up and dressing it down with some boyfriend jeans and sandals for every day wear.

This dress has been on repeat ever since purchasing it, the thin stripes and t-shirt like style and feel make it perfect for layering, print mixing (seen here), dressing up and down; all in all making it my official summer uniform.
Happy Hump Day!

While I was in England the weather was absolutely beautiful, sunny with a slight breeze, just how I like it. However when traveling up north to Scotland the temperature drops significantly hence the grey long-sleeved sweatshirt. I wore this outfit on a day of touring Edinburgh with my family, it was perfect for the cooler weather and I figured the grey color would fit in perfectly on a grey day, brightened up by this colorful statement necklace. The wide cropped shape of the top lended a hand in keeping things airy and breathable when the sun did decide to peek through the clouds.

Happy Monday, I hope you all enjoyed your weekend! This one has been a lazy one for me, since Mike and I have been on Netflix overload post him having his wisdom teeth removed on Friday. However, the night before we had a spontaneous date night, and I wore this outfit to a fab little restaurant in Philly which has the most adorable outdoor eating patio (picture here). I found this dress at Target and have worn it a couple times already, last seen here, it is the perfect versatile black dress to easily dress both up and down. I wore it with this knotted chambray for the day and added a statement necklace and these killer heels for the evening.

Right, shall I be completely honest? Society frowns upon shorts with heels and sometimes I just fit the mold and shake my head at others for showing off too much skin. But if I am being completely honest, and I am, I love shorts and heels because I think legs are amazing and should be shown off regardless of whether you are 5 foot or a giant 5'10" thing like me. I'm not saying go out there and rock your legs, midriff, arms and cleavage all together but a little leg action ain't never hurt nobody. I think shorts and heels give off a fun and youthful vibe. So today I am embracing this frowned upon look and vow to no longer pass judgement on fashion duos I love that may not be everyone's cup of tea.
Happy Thursday dolls :)
